About & Submission Policy

Almanac93 is a web directory maintained in the tradition of the printer's shop: every entry is composed by hand, proofed against a live domain, and held in standing type until the operator withdraws it or it ceases to resolve.

The directory currently holds 828 approved addresses across 22 trade sections. The sections cover the full range of commerce and community activity — from Dental Surgery and Apothecary & Physicians to Passage & Travel and Compositing & Press. Each folio is kept separate, so a reader browsing for a dental clinic does not have to sift through property listings to find one.

Submission is open to any operator with a live domain. There is no charge for listing. We ask only for a domain, a category, and a short description of the site's purpose. Entries are reviewed before being admitted to the formes; we do not set type for addresses that are not accessible or that misrepresent their trade.

The directory takes its name from the almanac tradition — that annual reference work, printed in quantity and distributed widely, that kept tradespeople and households informed of addresses, dates, and useful particulars. Almanac93 follows the same principle: a plain, reliable reference, updated as the trade changes.

We do not rank entries, recommend particular firms, or take payment for placement. The ledger is flat: each address sits in the same type as its neighbours, distinguished only by the trade section it occupies.
